JobFlow vs Housecall Pro (2026): An Honest Comparison for Irish Businesses

Updated August 2026 · 6 min read

Disclosure first: we build JobFlow, so read this knowing where we stand. Housecall Pro is a large US-built home-services platform, and it's built around its home market with real thoroughness: sales tax, financing, QuickBooks, a US support line. JobFlow applies the same logic to a different country. It's built around how Irish trade businesses quote, schedule, invoice and get paid, down to the VAT on each line and the Eircode on each address. That's the comparison that matters here: not which product is bigger, but which country's working reality each one is designed around.

* RTD = the Return of Trading Details, the annual VAT breakdown every VAT-registered business in Ireland has to file. Housecall Pro details from their pricing page as checked in August 2026; their plans and prices change, so confirm current figures on their site. "Not advertised" means we could not find the feature in their public materials, not that we have tested their product.

The short answer

If you're comparing feature lists, Housecall Pro's is enormous, and for a US home-services company it's a serious contender. For an Irish trade business, the questions come earlier than features: the pricing is in dollars and framed around sales tax rather than VAT, the accounting integration is QuickBooks, and we found no Irish-specific features advertised in the materials we reviewed. The differences below aren't gaps in their product; they're the consequences of it being built, well, for somewhere else.

Pricing: mind the user cliff

Housecall Pro's structure has a shape worth understanding before comparing headline numbers. Because the $59 Basic plan includes one user, a two-person business moves to the $149 Essentials tier under their published pricing. A six-person business is Essentials' five users plus one extra at $100 a month: $249 a month at their published rates, in dollars, before any add-ons. And one-tap route optimisation, the thing that saves a field team real diesel, sits on the $299 Max plan.

JobFlow is one price: €59 a month plus VAT with two users included, then €10 a month per extra user. That same six-person business is €99 a month, with route optimisation, WhatsApp messaging and everything else included, in euro.

On payment fees, the structures differ the same way they did in our other comparisons: Housecall Pro processes payments through its own service at its published rates, while JobFlow adds no payment margin at all. You connect your own Stripe account and pay Stripe's rates directly, and bank transfers cost nothing. We don't print the two rates side by side, because a US card-market rate and a European one are not like-for-like.

Where Housecall Pro is genuinely strong

Fair is fair, and there's plenty to concede. Housecall Pro reports over 200,000 professionals using it, and holds a 4.7 rating on Capterra across more than 2,700 reviews at the time of writing. Its ecosystem goes far beyond job management: AI call answering, review management, marketing campaigns, payroll, financing offers, even websites built for you. And it includes job costing from its cheapest plan, tracking the costs on each job against what it billed, which is worth saying plainly: JobFlow doesn't offer job costing, and if per-job cost tracking inside the software is on your must-have list, that's a real point in their column.

Where JobFlow is different for Irish trade businesses

Housecall Pro's own pricing page prices in dollars and states that prices are exclusive of sales tax, which tells you what tax system it lives in. JobFlow lives in yours.

Every invoice line carries the correct Irish VAT. Your VAT summary follows the VAT basis you are actually on, cash receipts or invoice basis, and the RTD export is one click, alongside the Accountant Pack your accountant gets at year end. Addresses and routing are Eircode-aware. Customer messages can go by WhatsApp, included rather than by text bundle. Timesheets handle Irish public holidays and statutory leave accrual, and the whole day runs from a field app that works with no signal.

And JobFlow's live board shows the day as planned beside how it actually ran, so you can see where schedules slipped and which jobs overran. We couldn't find that view anywhere else; the closest thing is spreadsheet-style reporting in enterprise platforms like ServiceTitan.

Which should you choose?

Choose Housecall Pro if you want the biggest US home-services ecosystem, in-software job costing matters to you, and dollar pricing with US-market features isn't a concern for how you run your business.

Choose JobFlow if you're an Irish trade business that wants Irish VAT, the RTD and Eircodes handled natively, route optimisation included in the standard plan, WhatsApp included, and one all-in price in euro. That's the business we built it for.

Both offer a 14-day free trial, so the honest way to decide is to run a few real jobs through each.

FAQ

What is the difference between JobFlow and Housecall Pro?

Housecall Pro is a large US-built home-services platform with a wide ecosystem, priced in dollars across tiers from $59 for one user to $299 plus per-user fees. JobFlow is Irish-built with one all-in price of €59 a month plus VAT including two users, and handles Irish specifics natively: Irish VAT on every line, both VAT bases, the RTD export and Eircode-aware routing. Which suits you depends on whether those Irish specifics matter to your business.

Is Housecall Pro suitable for Irish trades?

Housecall Pro is a capable home-services platform, but its public pricing and positioning centre on the US market: dollar pricing framed around US sales tax, QuickBooks accounting, a US support line. We found no Irish VAT handling, RTD export or Eircode features advertised in the materials we reviewed. For an Irish trade business, JobFlow is built specifically around those requirements. Check their current site for anything newer.

How much does Housecall Pro cost compared to JobFlow?

As of August 2026, Housecall Pro runs from $59 a month on annual billing for a single user, to $149 for up to five users, to $299 for eight, with additional users at $100 or $75 a month depending on the plan, all in USD and exclusive of US sales tax. JobFlow is €59 a month plus VAT with two users included, then €10 a month per extra user, everything included. Always confirm current pricing on each site.

Does JobFlow have job costing?

No. Housecall Pro includes job costing from its Basic plan, while JobFlow doesn't currently offer in-software job-cost tracking. If tracking actual costs against every job inside the software is essential to how you run, that's a genuine reason to look at Housecall Pro. JobFlow's focus is the revenue side: quoting, scheduling, invoicing and getting paid, with Irish VAT handled throughout.

Can I switch from Housecall Pro to JobFlow?

Yes. JobFlow imports customers, sites and jobs from CSV or Excel, the import validates before it commits and can be rolled back, and setup is included in the €59 plan rather than sold as onboarding. Run the two side by side on real jobs during the free trial before you move anything.

The bottom line

Housecall Pro is a big, capable product built for a market that isn't this one. Nothing about that is a criticism; it is why it works so well where it works. But the Irish parts of running a trade business, the VAT on every line, the RTD in December, the Eircode on every address, are the parts it leaves to you. That is the gap JobFlow exists to close.
